In the first quarter of 2021, MEHLER launched the investment project to manufacture the entire production chain for stretch fabrics in-house.
The texturing, assembling and twisting machines required for this were purchased for the Portuguese fabric site in Vila Nova de Famalicão.
In the meantime, the first production line for manufacturing the textured threads has been installed. The first samples have been successfully produced.
With this investment, MEHLER can cover the entire production process for stretch fabrics in-house: from texturing, assembling and twisting to weaving, tumbling, finishing and testing the highly elastic stretch fabrics.
Areas of application for stretch fabrics include timing belts and hoses.
